His perfect righteousness becomes ours, and allows us right into the Father's presence when we are born again. We are now "born free" - free to live true life, free to enjoy His eternal pleasures, free to obey God and follow His ways, no longer slaves to sin. Following after God's nature, and responding to His grace, we should be prepared to give our tithe and WAY beyond! Grace does not nullify God's commands for us to obey Him, and to strive to do what He does. If anything, grace should inspire in us love-motivated obedience and submission. I had a listen to your sermon and found it really interessting. Something I am however unsure of: Tithing sounds very much like an old testament thing - if you look at the history and the meaning of it at the time...it says nowhere in the new testament that a person HAS to tithe. Also, if it was a "HAVE TO", then grace would be nullified.. I think the issue for me is one of the heart - we are not forced to do anything from a legalistic point of view, otherwise the death of Jesus was pointless. what is your view on this?
